Honest stories, inappropriate humour and practical insight for people ready to stop abandoning themselves and live with more choice.
Self-abandonment happens when you repeatedly leave your needs, voice, values or judgement behind to stay safe, belong, cope or keep the peace.
More inappropriate laughter.
Notice where you leave your needs, voice, values or judgement behind, and understand what that pattern was protecting.
Reconnect with what matters to you and rebuild trust in your needs, boundaries, voice and choices.
Live with greater clarity and choice without handing yourself away to belong, stay safe or keep the peace.
I help people recognise where they have left their needs, voice, values or judgement behind, and understand the identity built around those choices.
My work brings together lived experience, more than 25 years across nursing, mental health and leadership, and practical tools that help people reclaim themselves.
My understanding is personal too. I have rebuilt after childhood trauma, domestic violence and breast cancer.
Those experiences shaped my thinking, but they are not the whole story. The work is about the pattern underneath: how capable people learn to leave themselves behind and how they reclaim choice.
Clear language for what is actually happening
See what it does to identity, voice and choice
Use the insight in real life, not just on paper
I began my career in nursing in 1996 and moved into mental health services in 2011. Since then, I have led teams and services across mental health, community services, trauma-informed practice and suicide postvention.
Today, I use that experience to develop clear language, original frameworks and practical insight into self-abandonment and identity reclamation.
Your story matters. So does what you choose next.
